xThe global pharma industry today is roughly $1.1 trillion, and between 2014 and 2020 is projected to rise by 41 percent, according to preliminary data from Pharmaceutical Commerce’s annual Biopharma Cold Chain Sourcebook. Within that, products that require refrigerated storage and transport are worth around $260 billion, and will rise 65 percent between 2014 and 2020, while non-refrigerated products are projected to rise by about 34 percent.
The major factors driving the growth for these products are shift from bulk to patient centric pharmaceutical solutions and pharmaceutical companies developing more personalised treatment solutions.
There are two questions that arise in the minds seeing the current pharma market scenario; first what steps must be taken to ensure end-to-end visibility in the supply chain. And, what action steps must the pharma logistics industry take in order to evolve to meet world class standards?
Pharma Logistics Summit 2017 will bring together supply chain heads of pharmaceutical companies and logistics service providers to discuss ideas and share best practices to mutually benefit each other.
It covers the latest developments in this trade frontier, thereby opening up vast potential for business opportunities, locally and internationally. Printed copies of ITLN reach a readership of more than 11,000 industry professionals globally. The digital version reaches more than 34,000 transport and logistics professionals around the world.
